Daily Pages: Football is Back + the Leaves are Changing

What's going on this week

Happy second week of September! We’ve had some amazing fall weather here over the past few days, and it’s the season for getting all the cozy stuff ready. We also got back to football this weekend. I love football Sundays more than any other day. It’s all about food and family, and there’s some football in there too. And yesterday’s football was great. Some really amazing games, especially the Sunday night game between Buffalo and Baltimore—even if I was falling asleep as the game was winding down.

This week will be a short week for Daily Pages. I’ll be taking a vacation starting the 11th and I’ll be back for Daily Pages on the 29th. I’ve got Saturday newsletters scheduled, so we’ll keep in touch, but no Daily Pages newsletters while I’m on break.

The Daily Pages Live room will still be open at Noon ET, and Carol Anne will be taking over hosting duties, so you can come hang out with the ladies, even if I’m not around.

I love September break. It’s a great way to transition from summer into fall, and really start to take advantage of the best of summer and fall weather.

For today’s page, I added some paint to an older gel print, and used that as the background for my Currently List. I added a Brandi sticker to finish up the page. I love how the full page looks.

Technique of the Day

This week’s Currently List:

Watching:

NFL Football Week One; I finished a rewatch of Crash Landing on You last week, it’s such an incredible comfort show; Great British Bake Off started again, and this year’s contestants seem delightful as always.

Reading:

Lots of NFL drama and some longer-form science articles, lots of stuff on food, biology, medicine, and other random stuff.

Listening:

A Court of Mist and Fury—it’s not as good as Fourth Wing, but time away from the dragons only make me love them more.

Making:

Pizza and Pasta. I’ve been loving this pizza recipe. We’ve had such an abundance of tomatoes this year, so lots of pasta recipes as well. This afternoon I’m planning an orzo pasta salad with cherry tomatoes, herbs, and cheeses. It’ll be perfect for Monday Night Football!

Feeling:

So much more energetic. The summer *really* took a lot of out me. Health-wise and heat-wise, since they’re so interconnected. Now that we’re changing seasons, I’m feeling so much better and I’ve got the energy to do a million more things.

Planning:

ALP Virtual Scrapbook Festival in November! This is one of my favorite events of the year and we’re going to have a great time. Look out for more details next month. This event is free and open to the public!

Loving:

The leaves are starting to change colors, and I’m loving it so much.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Old Prints, New Life

That background you made months ago doesn’t have to sit in a pile. Add paint, journaling, or stickers, and suddenly it’s a finished page.

Pro Tip: Keep a folder of leftover prints. On low-energy days, pull one out and build from there.
