I got the flu shot this week, and since my immune system is shot, it’s taking a little bit more of a toll on me than it has in the past. I wasn’t feeling up to doing anything exciting today, so I decided I’d make a fun monochromatic collage. This is an easy technique you can pull out any time you’re not up for something super cerebral.
Technique of the Day
I keep all my little bits and bobs in clear containers on my desk—sorted by color. For today’s page, I grabbed the box of yellow bits, dumped it out all over the desk and found a bunch of different little things that fit on the page. There’s something super soothing about moving the little bits around the page until you figure out how they’re all going to fit the way you want.

Supplies as Inspiration
Sometimes the fastest way to get unstuck is to flip through your stash. The right color or pattern can spark an instant idea.
Pro Tip: When new supplies arrive, take ten minutes to cut, trim, or prep them for future use—you’ll thank yourself on busy days.
