I was cleaning up this morning and came across this cool gel print I made a few months back on some yellow sticker paper.
I wanted to do something interesting with it, but my headaches have also been pretty bad today (thanks weather!); so instead I decided to draw and cut out some big shapes.
I added some words on there and I’m enjoying these pages. They remind me of a highly decorated commonplace book. Good words, good art. You can’t be mad at that!
PS—I’ve been having a great time doing Week in the Life. You can check out some of my photos over on my Notes feed.
Technique of the Day
Armed with my black bullet tip Sharpie creative marker (should this be capitalized? do we care?), I traced a few big circles, drew a few triangles, and then cut them out and stuck them down on the page.
It honestly couldn’t have been easier.
If you’re not a gel prints person, you can absolutely do this exact same thing with collage, stamped backgrounds, patterned paper, or whatever you’ve got lying around. It’s a fun way to make cool patterns and use up stuff you’ve already made.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
Make It a Sticker Page
If you’ve got sticker paper lying around, use it to your advantage. Everything you cut out becomes a ready-to-go embellishment.
Pro Tip: Print or paint on full-sheet sticker paper ahead of time. Then when a low-energy day hits, all you have to do is cut, peel, and stick.
