I finally remembered to pick up the right soap…
I finally remembered to take said soap out of the back of the car…
I finally remembered to soak my brayers to get all the paint off…
…and omg, it was *so* satisfying to rip off all that used paint and throw it in the trash.
But, when I went to use them today, they worked differently than I’ve been accustomed to over the past few months, as the layers of paint built up on the brayer. Luckily, we figured out what was going on, and I just added some extra paint and pulled another full layer. It didn’t turn out the way that I wanted…but I’ll try again tomorrow!
Technique of the Day
I’m having so much fun with this cut up poetry/quote stuff. At first, I’m usually cutting them up so they fit on the page better, but since I have to do that, I love deciding where each of the words go, and how to break them up by line.
It’s a great way to play around with the idea of poetry without having to do it all yourself.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
✂️ Make Your Tools Work for You
Sometimes a deep clean changes how your favorite tools behave—like my freshly soaked brayers. When that happens to you, don’t panic. Notice the difference, add a little extra paint if needed, and let it be part of the learning curve.
Pro Tip: Keep a few test scraps nearby to warm up or troubleshoot when your tools feel unfamiliar.
