Hey friends—I’m back today with a simple page using a seasonal Brandi Kincaid quote that I had lying around my desk.
But first—here’s a quick update on what’s going on around here:
—Yesterday was my 24 week appointment with the OB, everything looks really good.
—We took a drive out to IKEA and got a few more things to prep the house. We also picked up a really good lunch at our favorite Italian specialty shop out there.
—I also got my flu shot at the dr yesterday, so now I’m feeling a bit under the weather today, and I’m really hoping to just get back under the blankets after I finish today’s meetings.
—I had a ton of little persnickety admin things to do this morning that really sucked up so much of my time, and didn’t really let me get to my desk until right before today’s Daily Pages session.
When I’ve got days like this, where everything is a little bit disjointed, and I’m feeling off—I want my Daily Pages to be as frictionless as possible. I find something simple on my desk, usually something I can just cut up and glue down, and I don’t worry too much about making big decisions or trying out new techniques. I’m just happy to get my hands a little creative and let that be a part of my day.
Technique of the Day
Today’s page, I grabbed a 5x7 art card from Brandi Kincaid, and cut it down so that it fit inside the notebook. This has become of my favorite things to do recently, as I love having these quotes in my notebook, and I don’t have to think too much about what I’m doing during the process—great for baby brain.
This technique can be done with art prints, postcards, stuff you pull from magazines, words you print out on your own—whatever you’ve got hanging around your art supplies. The key to making it super simple is getting some wide format double sided adhesive, so as soon as you make your cuts, you’ve got instant stickers!
My favorite double-sided adhesive is from scrapbook.com, and I usually pick it up twice a year when it goes on sale—Black Friday (coming up real soon) and National Scrapbooking Day in May. What are your favorite supplies to stock up on during sale season?
