Daily Pages: Tissue Paper Stickers

Spending some time making easy, low-bulk, colorful layers

I spent the majority of the time today making new tissue paper stickers. You can check out the whole tutorial in today’s full video—or I’ll get around to editing it and putting it somewhere else eventually.

You can’t really see it at all in the picture of the Daily Page—but I spent a bunch of time dry embossing (pushed through an embossing stencil) the blue speech bubbles on the left side. They look super cool in person, but pretty flat in the photo. They also feel really cool.

Since I spent most of my time making the tissue paper stickers (see below), my page for today was super simple.

Technique of the Day

I spent about half my time today creating more of these tissue paper stickers. I love having these on hand for Daily Pages. Because I keep things pretty flat in my notebooks, I don’t tend to do a ton of different textured papers, as they can start to make the book a little thicker (and less sturdy). I love them in my traditional scrapbook pages, tons of layers, lots of dimension. But in my notebooks, it’s Kansas1.

So tissue paper is awesome. Tissue paper that’s already been put on adhesive, turning it into a sticker and making more sturdy in the process? Yes please. I’m here for that.

I made these same tissue paper stickers a few months back, and I’m finally running out of them, so it was time to make some more. They store really easily, they’re amazing for adding some light layers (it’s that time of year), and it’s such an affordable supply (the tissue paper was literally less than $3.50). Also, as someone who loves color, it’s a great way to pull more solid colors into your projects.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Tissue Paper Stickers Are the Perfect Low-Bulk Layer

If you love the look of layered papers but don’t want to bulk up your notebook, tissue paper stickers are a great solution. They add texture and dimension without making your pages too thick.

Pro Tip: Store extra stickers rolled up and clipped together with a binder clip or clear pouch near your workspace so they’re always within reach.
