Daily Pages: The Easiest Way to Show Up Today

How gel printing, easy color shifts, and some good Brandi words turned into a no-pressure page

Today was fun. I’ve been enjoying the gel plate this week.

I’ve gotten to the point in my gel printing journey when that’s just the easiest thing to do. Which means it naturally becomes the go-to technique whenever I’m feeling tired or not in the mood to make a bunch of creative decisions. It’s an easy way for me to show up right now.

My headaches were definitely better today than they’ve been over the last few days, but now I’m just exhausted from lots of headaches. So, I’m still being gentle with myself. I’m looking forward to the weather evening out a bit this week, but for today, I’m still taking it slow.

So when you’re feeling slower than you’d like—lean into whatever feels easiest for you right now.

Technique of the Day

For today’s page, I grabbed my box of handmade masks (I talk more about these in the Gel Printing + Daily Pages masterclass) and started laying stuff down on the page.

I’ve been in a bright pink mode recently, so I put that down onto the plate, and then followed it up with a much lighter version of the color (literally just adding some white paint to my pink paint) in the empty spaces.

I finished up the background with some black sharpie creative marker and a Brandi Kincaid poem.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Lean into what feels easiest.

Your go-to creative technique doesn’t have to be fancy. If it’s working, it’s working. Right now, that’s gel printing for me. Don’t overthink it—showing up matters more than reinventing the wheel.

Pro Tip: When you feel a creative lull coming on, go with your favorite low-lift process. You’re more likely to enjoy yourself and actually make something.
