Daily Pages: Slow and Steady

Sometimes you just find *the* perfect thing.

I was not in the mood to make decisions this morning. I’m definitely feeling some post Daily Pages 5th Anniversary hangover-esque symptoms. Tired, irritable, eternally grateful, but also, wow—let’s take a second and chill for just a sec.

The party went about as amazing as it could have. Thank you to everyone who was there and to everyone who has helped make my Daily Pages Live sessions a possibility these last five years.

I’ve grown so much as an artist over these last five years, I’m excited to see what comes next—both for myself, and for everyone in this community.

Technique of the Day

I absolutely love the little snail behind the turtle. I didn’t even mean to put two little slow animals on the page when I’m talking all about rest. It’s so fun what our subconscious wants to do.

This week’s Currently List:

Watching:

You—we’re on season 4. I want to finish up before they really dive into the media tour for the release of season five near the end of the month.

Gemstones—We’ll catch up on last night’s episode tonight. The beginning of last week’s episode was something…

AP Bio—it’s the show we’ve been watching in the kitchen when we’re making dinner or doing chores.

Reading:

Iron Flame—pure escapism right now. It’s so helpful.

Listening:

LotR: Fellowship

Making:

Baked Ziti with the sausage I made over the weekend.

Feeling:

Headachey.

Planning:

Rest (listen to today’s podcast for more details on how Rest is part of the process!)

Loving:

Daily Pages Fifth Anniversary Celebration—it was amazing. Learn more below.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Let the Symbols Speak First

Sometimes the stuff we pick has something to say before we realize what the page is about. Like today’s little snail and turtle—a subconscious nod to slowing down.

Pro Tip: Pay attention to what you’re reaching for. Your story might already be happening without you realizing it!
