Hey friends! I needed something super simple for today’s Daily Page, as I had just finished up a really great conversation with Jeff Smith. You can check out the full video (and a few of my favorite quotes) down below.
Technique of the Day
Whenever I need a chill day, I pick out some art (usually Brandi Kincaid these days) and do some precision cutting. It’s a task that I don’t need to think about too hard. There aren’t a million different decisions that I need to make. It’s just less friction.
Today, I pulled this excellent set of green pears and matched it up with a hot pink background that I had made a few months back (stored now in new Costco ziptop bags by color temperature—I might be too excited about this lol).
Once I put the pear and the words in my notebook, I thought it needed a little bit of something, so I just added a little bit of black line work around the edges, it was just the pop of something that it needed.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
A Little Line Work Goes a Long Way
You don’t always need a full extra layer—just outlining or adding quick marks can give your page the extra polish it needs.
Pro Tip: Keep a favorite black pen or marker within arm’s reach so you can add that final visual oomph without overthinking it.
