Normally, with my regular Daily Pages notebooks—I open up the notebook to the first blank pages, make a page, and call it a day. With this book—I’m creating a page for each day of the month. And these pages are a little more story-focused than my usual pages. In addition, I’m generally working on yesterday’s page during my Daily Pages Live sessions—which is a further departure from my everyday habit.
For today’s page, I wanted to do a Currently List (my traditional Monday morning page). But it took me a few moments to figure out if I was going to put it on yesterday’s page in the book (Day 7) or today’s day in the book (Day 8). It’s more important to me that I get a story for each day, not that I perfectly keep every story “exactly where it’s supposed to go”. So I thought about my Sunday, and realized that I didn’t have any great stories that I wanted to tell, so the Currently List would be a perfect page for the day.
In the coming days, I still plan on working on the page from the day before—but I’ve also got a few blank spots in the book that I can work on as well. Right now, I’ve got everything finished except for the 5th and the 6th. One of those is going to get some stuff about going to the movies to see Merrily We Roll Along, and the other page will probably get some details about putting all the baby clothes away (her closet is so packed).
Technique of the Day
For today’s page, I wanted to do something a little crafty, but nothing too difficult—so I grabbed this package of rub-ons I’ve been holding onto for a few years now. They’re so pretty and I’ve been saving them for the perfect project.
I thought they would look really cool against the text background of the Brandi pages, especially with all the different colors. I also wanted to make sure I was really showing them off—I didn’t want to be covering them up with a bunch of photos or journaling. So using them on this Currently List page was absolutely perfect. I love how they look.
