Today I didn’t really have a photo or a specific story I wanted to tell—the best thing from yesterday was the Cowboys losing to the Lions in Thursday Night Football (it was actually a pretty great game); but that didn’t really seem album worthy. I’m sure I’ll have a few football pages in this book, but this wasn’t going to be it.
Over the last few days my life has pretty much looked super similar, a lot of the same stories in and out. I’m doing crazy amounts of baby laundry, I’ve finally got the last load of gifts in the dryer, and I need to fold all the little onesies that we decorated at the party. This little girl is going to have so many different outfits, we’ve got enough for multiple costume changes a day!
I’ve also been spending a lot of time working on the Awesome Ladies Project Virtual Scrapbook Festival—Registration opens next week, and I’m making sure to get the finishing touches on the classroom, the challenges, and all the great stuff we’ve got going on during Festival Week (December 17th through 21st).
Technique of the Day
Today I really just wanted to play with some Christmas supplies, so I grabbed one of my favorite holiday stamp sets—this tree set from Ali Edwards. I went with some non-traditional Christmas colors for my trees, and fit as many onto the page as possible.
I did some light precision cutting, no need to make things perfect, the most important thing is getting it done. I added the trees to the naked page with some washi tape so they would easily flip down.
My journaling prompt for today was: “Looking Forward To” and I wrote out four things that I’m looking forward to this holiday season:
Decorating all the trees we’ve got around the house
Cookie making weekend & sending out cookie presents
Not having to go anywhere else this holiday season
The yummy meal (brisket) I’m planning for Christmas dinner
Looking forward to this month/season/week/whatever is one of my favorite quick journaling prompts. I use it in Daily Pages a few times a year, and it’s a great way to talk about things that are probably never going to get a second look on another page.

Looking Forward Lists
Quick prompts like “Looking Forward To” help you capture joy before it even happens. They turn anticipation into a story worth keeping.
Pro Tip: Make a “looking forward” page at the start of every new season—it’s a built-in gratitude list in disguise.
