Daily Pages: Currently Back to Creating

It's how I start the week--even if it's not Monday

I’m back! Vacation was amazing, it was so wonderful to spend time with friends and family. Especially since I got to tell everyone in person that we’re expecting a little girl in early March!

I’m about 17 weeks pregnant, and right now I’m feeling great. My first trimester was rough (one of the big reasons I had to take so much time off this summer), but now that we’re further along I’ve got so much more energy, I’m eating food again, and not napping every single afternoon.

I’ll be documenting my pregnancy, and her early days on a private Substack blog. This way I can keep in touch with everyone pretty easily, and not have to worry that I didn’t text everyone all of the updates all of the time.

If you’d like to follow along, you can subscribe here. I have to manually approve emails, so if you’ve got an email address that I might not be familiar with, just hit reply on this email, or shoot me a DM and let me know that you subscribed and what your email address is.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been so thoughtful and congratulatory—I appreciate you all more than I can say, and I’m so excited to share the journey of our expanding little family.

For today’s pages, I created a couple of quick pages, so that I can finish up my notebook by the end of the month. I usually don’t care about when I’m starting a new notebook, but I had so much fun last year with my October pages, that I want to start them in a new notebook and give myself some space for fun spooky and witchy pages for the holiday.

First was my normal Monday Currently List, then I created a cute little page about how we’re destashing and changing the house around to prep for the little one.

Technique of the Day

This week’s Currently List:

Watching:

Lots of football. I can’t believe my team won that game yesterday, I was not expecting that in the least! We also finished up Foundation on Apple+, what a great season of TV. I started watching Next Gen Chef, I’m such a sucker for cooking competition shows. I also finished up season two of Wednesday while we were on vacation. It was the perfect hotel show.

Reading:

I didn’t have room on my card for this—but I’m reading a million reviews for baby things and trying not to get overwhelmed in the process.

Listening:

Lots of music in the car for our road trip. I’m loving the Alt 2000s channel on SiriusXM. It’s got the best throwback music. So easy to sing along to. Perfect for a long drive.

Making:

I made an amazing chicken last night. We’re working through some of the older stuff in the freezer to make more room for when we do meal prep later on. We’ve decided on making a chicken each Sunday until we run out. Yesterday was just your basic roasted chicken with garlic and cippolini onions—it was so great.

Feeling:

Good! I came home with a bit of a sore throat, so it was really nice to have a few extra days to rest after we got back. I’ve got so much more energy than I did a few weeks back, and I’m excited to be back in the swing of things.

Planning:

The ALP Virtual Scrapbook Festival in November.

I’ve got a hand in planning my baby shower at the end of November as well. I’m not doing any of the heavy lifting, but I’ve definitely got a few opinions about things ;)

Loving:

That we were able to spend time with everyone and tell them the big news in person.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Fresh Notebook, Fresh Season

Sometimes it feels good to line up your notebooks with the calendar—new month, new vibe, new space to play.

Pro Tip: If you’re nearing the end of a notebook, don’t force it. Wrap it up and give yourself a clean start for October.
