God it’s hot here today. Especially here in my studio. I’m doing my best to spend as little time as possible in here today, so we’re keeping today’s note short. <3
Technique of the Day
I pulled some textured cardstock to create patterns on the gel plate. It took me a couple tries to get the right amount of paint on the plate, and pulling the cardstock earlier than usual to leave some paint on the plate.
Eventually I got a great textured look with my red-orange paint. I dried that, added some yellow, and pulled that print on regular paper. I’m in love with the texture it created and I’ll absolutely be doing this again in the future. It think it’ll be especially awesome as a middle layer; so can’t wait to try that sometime soon!

Tips & Creative Wisdom
Hot Day? Keep It Short and Sweet
When it’s too hot to function, you don’t need to skip your practice—you just need to shrink it down. A quick page still counts.
Pro Tip: Set a timer for 5 minutes, pull one print or stick down one thing, and call it a win.
