Daily Pages: Color Blocked Thursday3

Using a pre-made print for an easy page

Happy Thursday Friends! I’ve had annoying headaches for the third day in a row—the exact same amount of time that it’s been constantly raining outside. So gross out. At this point, I honestly welcome the sunny + humid days. If it’s going to be soaking wet outside, at least give me some sun!

Also, I really need to get some plants in the ground. I still have a bunch of fun things that I picked up at the University plant sale on Friday, but there hasn’t been day since that I’ve been able to get outside and get those plants in the ground. Not to mention that it hasn’t gotten above 52 degrees either. Just ew.

Obviously, today is a day for little complaints. Which honestly, is one of the best things about Thursday3 and having a relationship with your notebook. It’s a great place to vent about the little things that are annoying the heck out of you.

Technique of the Day

I needed something pretty easy today, the headaches are still pretty constant, and although they’re not too painful, it’s very tiring; especially after multiple days in a row. So, I grabbed a gel print that I had hanging on the wall and decided it would be perfect for my Thursday3 background.

I didn’t have a selfie that I wanted to use on my page (although I did share one later this afternoon on Substack Notes).

So, I just grabbed some stamps, used my staz-on—always staz-on when we’re stamping on painted surfaces. And then I used the sharpie creative markers for today’s journaling. First the black bullet tip, then the white brush tip. I added in that little hobbit hole green sticker to match the LotR story. <3 Love this practice.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Permanent Ink is Your Friend on Painted Surfaces

Painted backgrounds can be tricky to write on, especially with markers that want to smear. Keep StazOn ink and permanent markers nearby. Always choose the right tools for the job.

Pro Tip: Bullet tip for structure, brush tip for flair—alternate black and white for contrast that works every time.
