Ah yes, being as nice as other people think we should be... *sigh*. I guess it's how we find out tribes - showing up authentically and being okay when people leave because we don't meet their expectations of us. I can't often outright swear (at least not in public) given my husband's profession, but I do spend a lot of time using words like 'banker' and 'flosser'. ;)
There's a famous woman in our church world called Nadia Bolz-Weber - one of the holiest women you could meet - and she swears a lot. I suspect we need to become more okay with people feeling things strongly. Because sometimes it's right to feel things strongly and express that.
xoxoxo. It’s always so wild to me when people are like…”this is what I want and need and you should change for me” without ever thinking about the fact that they’re one of thousands of people who read/follow/interact with my (or whoever’s) stuff.
It comes down to the idea that if you think own opinions are more valuable than everyone else’s opinions (especially when it’s about a stranger’s life) is all I need to know about you.
I think it’s possibly a scrapbooking thing too? Like so much of the social media side of that world is showing up as this shiny, perfect crafty girl with the beautiful craft room and rainbow of supplies… there’s a faux wholesomeness to it all that our real, messy lives don’t really gel with.
There are not enough hearts emojis to convey how much I fucking love this🥰 you're fucking amazing 😘
xoxoxoxo you are amazing!
First, fuck yeah - do you! Second, we connected over the f-word usage 😎 for which I am grateful.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Hell yes. Absolute same.

YES. It’s a huge reason why I’m not a big part of “the industry”—I literally don’t have the bandwidth to pretend 24/7.
Ah - now I would say you are a very important cog in the industry. Which is why people are pushing you to look more like the others ;)
Hahahaha. I’ll absolutely go with that next time. I love it. You’re definitely right in so many ways.
Love your response…your authenticity is one of the many things I love about you! If THAT scares you then….you’re definitely in the wrong place.
