Hi friends,
Yesterday, I was out in the garage in front of my chest freezer while the (well-below) freezing air bit at my ankles. Buried under a bag of waffle fries and large packages of meat from the ranch, I found a container of frozen tomato sauce from our backyard garden—plus some hot peppers I’d tucked away from our local CSA. In seconds, my frigid garage morphed into a hot summer afternoon, and I could practically feel that bright August sun on my skin. Unfortunately, I snapped back to reality after about 2 seconds…but man am I ready for the warmer weather.
Tiny little reminders, like the possibility of a fresh summer tomato sauce, can transport us from the dreariness of the moment to somewhere we love. Even in the dead of winter, a single memory opens the door to a warmer, more comfortable time. It’s a sign that we often carry our favorite days with us—if only we know where to look (in the freezer).
Those little moments are fleeting, but essential to your story. And because I think they’re so important, I wanted to give you a way to document them. So this week I made you something special—a printable mini-scrapbook/zine for you to start documenting your stories in a fast, easy, and accessible way. Download below.

Little Moments Big Stories List
A quick list can spark a hundred memories.
Use this space to jot down small events or anecdotes that stand out from your day—like a funny conversation or the way your morning coffee tasted extra delicious. Each bullet point might be just a sentence, but it can blossom into a full story later. Recognize that even the tiniest moment has the potential to light up your scrapbook.
Your Turn: Name one thing that happened today that felt worth remembering.
Capture Today: Four Prompts
Grab today’s mood before it slips away.
Fill in these four prompts—Today I feel, One moment, Favorite sound, Today in color—to paint a quick snapshot of your life right now. Write as much or as little as you like: maybe I feel peaceful, or I heard the neighbor’s dog snoring and laughed. You’ll be surprised how these simple prompts bring a moment back vividly when you revisit them.
Your Turn: Try one of these prompts right now—what color describes your day?
Currently List
Freeze your current fascinations in time.
This list is for whatever you’re loving these days—could be a TV show, a new hobby, or even a snack you can’t get enough of. Jot them down to create a snapshot of your right now favorites, so you can see how your tastes evolve. It’s also a fun reference when you’re reflecting on what inspired you at different points in your life.
Your Turn: What’s one new thing you’re absolutely obsessed with?
How to Make It a Habit
Consistency beats perfection every time.
Pick a low-pressure routine, like setting aside five minutes before bed or right after your morning meal. Keep your zine within reach, so when something pops into your head—a silly thought, a small win, or an unexpected surprise—you can jot it down. Building this mini habit is the first step to building a creative storytelling practice you love.
Your Turn: When could you carve out a few simple minutes for your creativity?
That’s all it takes! Each section nudges you to see one part of everyday life as a source of joy and reflection. In just a few minutes a day, you can fill up these pages and feel your confidence—and your right now story—*unfold* in front of you.
Think of each prompt and list as a step toward honoring the person you are now. By collecting your small wins, fun discoveries, and daily thoughts, you’re making it so much easier for you to love the live your living. A few months back, I found a list of all the songs I was currently binge-listening to in college—talk about a trip down memory lane (and an amazingly cringe dance party)!
Your experiences have meaning, whether they’re big, small, or somewhere in between. Embrace them with curiosity, and you’ll see your authentic self shine through in ways you never expected.
