Behind the Page

It’s been a day. Lots of stuff going on around here—work stuff, health stuff, house stuff, and I’m ready for the weekend. To keep things simple, I went with a text-based Thursday3 page (I did take a selfie, but it’s still on my camera roll…I’ll use it for Book of Me later this year).

As the days start to get longer, I personally start thinking about the plants I’m going to grow this season. Right now, I’m feeling extra excited about peppers this year, so I know we’re going to have a big variety of peppers; some hot, some sweet, all interesting.

Technique of the Day

The next book in the Fourth Wing series is coming out on Tuesday, and I couldn’t be more excited. I haven’t been this into a series since college when HP and Twilight came out. I’m definitely more hype than I was for any of the Twilight books, and my anticipation is definitely matching those later HP books. I’m not going to any midnight release parties this time, because honestly, I want to get right to reading the book at midnight. No wasted time on getting out of a store, driving home, etc. I can just start reading right on my Kindle at 12:01 am.

Have you read the books?

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Let Anticipation Fuel Your Creativity

Excitement for something (like an upcoming book release) can be a great creative spark. Use that energy to write about your favorite parts of the series, sketch characters, or create pages inspired by the book's vibes (like yesterday’s Dragon School).

Pro Tip: Design a themed page in your notebook to mark the release day of your next favorite read and use it document your initial thoughts as you read.
