The Met NYC Mini-Album
The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Subject:
NYC is my favorite city in the world and The Met is one of my favorite places in NYC. It is expansive. There's no way you can see everything in a single visit -- so take a look at the website before you go and plan out the exhibits you want to see. I highly recommend the Greek/Roman gallery, the Egyptian gallery, and the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas gallery. Also -- if they have any installations up on the roof, definitely check that out.
The Met is SUGGESTED admission -- so don't let the price scare you away. You can see all of this art for whatever money you can afford (even $1) -- the Met has big money donors that help support the museum and let people like me and you go there and see these amazing works of art without breaking the bank.
During this trip, Jeff and I accidentally wound up at The Met one afternoon when we were in NYC. We had planned to see a show in Central Park, but had to push that back two days -- because the museum is right next to Central Park, we walked over and had an amazing afternoon walking through all the galleries and taking a nap up on the roof.
Date Made:
Sometime in early 2013
Construction:
This is a very basic book. I gathered 4x6 Cardstock Photos (from Persnickety Prints), patterned paper, and pink corrugated cardboard (American Crafts). I cut the paper down to 4x6 size and bound everything with two binder rings.
Each spread has a full page single 4x6 photo and a full page of patterned paper with a little bit of journaling.
I happened to have my dSLR on me that day, so in this album I really wanted to focus on the beautiful pictures, and keeping the album super minimalist helped me to do that.
Number of Pages:
12 + Front Cover and Back Cover
Notable Parts:
The cardboard cover! I'm just in love with the texture of it. It gives the album a really fun feel -- especially with the vellum envelope and sequins on the front. It's super simple, and really easy to replicate. If you have a couple of great photos, this is a fantastic way to show them off.
Materials Used:
Pink Corrugated Cardboard, 4x6 Matte Cardstock photographs from Persnickety Prints, Dear Lizzy patterned paper, binder rings, Crop-A-Dile hole punch, vellum envelope, sequins, Amy Tangerine thickers, Kelly Purkey alphabet stickers
