Substack: Understanding Your Subscription Status
How to keep in touch with me exactly the way you want
Ever wonder what you're getting with your Substack subscription, or what you might be missing? Today's newsletter is all about understanding the different subscription levels, which one you’ve currently got, and how they can enhance your creative journey. Let's dive in!
How to Tell What Subscription You’ve Got
There are a couple different ways to see what type of subscription you’ve got when you’re on a Substack newsletter like this one. First, you can go to the main page of the publication — mine is rukristin.substack.com, and you’ll see a screen similar to the image above.
If you’re not subscribed, that button will look like “+Subscribe”. If you’ve got a free subscription, you’ll see the button as it is in the photo above “Upgrade to Paid”, and if you’ve got a paid subscription, that button isn’t even there.
ALSO
Directly below I’ve got a little subscription box that shows up differently depending on what type of subscription you’ve got. This is inside most of the emails and posts you get/see. What you see right below is dynamic — meaning it will be different depending on the circumstances.
Now — here’s a static image of what it looks like for each subscription type — and a little more about those subscriptions.
Not-Subscribed: Casual Engagement
You’ll see a box where you can add in your email address — where you can sign up for either a free or paid subscription.
What You Get: Access to public posts on the website or app.
Ideal For: Those who are exploring and aren't ready to commit. You can check out my posts at your own pace and see what resonates with you.
Free Subscription: Regular Inspiration
You’ll see the same words as the unsubscribed folks, but you’ll see that “Upgrade to Paid” button instead of the empty box for your email address.
What You Get: Regular posts emailed directly to you. You can opt-in for specific newsletters like Currently List, Daily Pages, or the Podcast. Plus, enjoy a sneak peek with the 45-second sped-up/social media version of the Daily Pages video.
Ideal For: If you're looking to keep a steady flow of inspiration and tips coming your way, this is for you. It’s a step towards integrating more creativity into your everyday life.
Paid Subscription: Deep Dive into Creativity
For those of you with a paid subscription, you’ll see the same words as above as well — but then you’ll see a checkmark with the word Subscribed, and nothing to interact with.
What You Get: Everything in the free subscription, plus premium content like our Monthly Lens magazine and full video recordings of the Daily Pages Livestream.
Ideal For: Dedicated individuals who are serious about taking their creative journey to the next level. This is for those who want to immerse themselves in comprehensive and exclusive content.
