Day #16 Behind the Page

I didn’t get a chance to work on my TV or Music pages—so for today I decided to just play around with some of the extra holiday supplies that I’ve got in my stash. I paired up a checkered background page with a bunch of these plastic holiday tags I picked up from Ali Edwards last year or the year before.

One of the things that I’ve realized this year (thanks Scrapbook Scavenger Hunt) is that one of my favorite things to do is just *arrange* things. I had a great time making stickerscapes, I made some great collage pages, etc.

It’s something that just makes me feel good, and I’m definitely going to carry more of that into 2025.

Technique of the Day

I wanted to add a tiny bit of journaling to this page—Monday was a ‘nothing but work’ day for me, and I didn’t really take any photos or anything, so adding in this little sentence about my accomplishments, and what made me feel good about the day was the perfect way to finish up this page.

For those of you unfamiliar with December Daily Pages, it’s a mix of two creative traditions I love: Ali Edwards’ December Daily, a holiday storytelling project, and my own Daily Pages routine, a creative habit I’ve practiced since 2018. By blending these approaches, I’ve found a way to balance holiday cheer with the everyday joys of scrapbooking and storytelling.

Share your pages (and find inspiration!) in the Awesome Ladies Project app. I’ll be posting my pages there throughout the month.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Let Arranging Be the Star

Sometimes the joy of creating isn’t about telling a specific story—it’s about putting all the stuff down on the page in a way that feels good. Whether it’s stickers, tags, or collage bits, having fun with this process can make your page both pretty and satisfying.

Pro Tip: Keep a stash of small, versatile bits—stickers, washi, die cuts—on hand to create quick arrangements when you’re in the mood to play.
