Today’s Color
Behind the Page
It’s been a full day — I’ve had three doctor’s appointments, did Daily Pages Live, and went out for an early dinner already. Now I’m back home watching Scandal and sitting in the air conditioning. We’re getting to the end of our pink days — tomorrow is red — and today was all about light pink.
One of the most interesting things about this challenge has been going to pick out something for that day’s color, thinking it’s the perfect representation; just to realize that I found something else that also looks like the perfect representation of the color, and the two items definitely aren’t the same color.
Technique of the Day
Before Color Month started, and I was rummaging through my things and I came across these cards from Brandi Kincade. The colors are amazing, and I thought they would all look good throughout my notebook this month. It’s a great way to keep another theme running throughout the album and make everything a little bit more cohesive!
Reflections & Insights
My camera really didn’t want to capture how pretty this light pink is. It looks so much better in the second photo, where I’ve got all those other colors in it as well. The camera likes it better when things aren’t as monochromatic as I’ve been making them.
Sometimes the camera just doesn’t take a great photo, usually it’s the light. Try switching up the light or even taking your project outside and using some natural light will help. And remember, a picture is just a representation of your art. It’s not your art itself! So if you’re dissatisfied with how your photos are turning out, remember that’s not an indicator of your project.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
I’m excited to move on to red tomorrow! I don’t know what I’m going to do just yet (I do have another one of these fun quote cards I’ll use for poppy red on Thursday), but I might take advantage of washi Wednesday and see what’s up.
