Day #2 Behind the Page

So, I lost my power yesterday for the duration of my normal Daily Pages time, so I just curled up with a book and got cozy while waiting for the lights to come back on. I’ll document that story tomorrow (part of what I set up with today’s page). But missing the second day of this project really threw me for a loop and it took me a while to settle into what I was actually going to create today.

I spent some time thinking about what it is that I really wanted to document, and there wasn’t anything important or special that happened on Monday. No photos, just chilling out and working mostly. So it was going to be a more vibes based day — and I decided the one thing that I did want to document was the nights getting darker, earlier. So I grabbed a little Brandi art card and stuck it down on the page.

Technique of the Day

I love that this book has 4x6 page protectors and I can just drop in a vertical quote card. I’ve got a bunch of great cards in my stash, and they’re perfect for these easy pages.

I added some holiday themed washi to the bottom and slid it into the album. The opposite page has a smaller art card from Brandi Kincaid, representing the nights getting longer, working our way towards solstice.

For those of you unfamiliar with December Daily Pages, it’s a mix of two creative traditions I love: Ali Edwards’ December Daily, a holiday storytelling project, and my own Daily Pages routine, a creative habit I’ve practiced since 2018. By blending these approaches, I’ve found a way to balance holiday cheer with the everyday joys of scrapbooking and storytelling.

Share your pages (and find inspiration!) in the Awesome Ladies Project app. I’ll be posting my pages there throughout the month.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Document the Everyday Vibes

Not every day needs a big story—sometimes the quieter, vibe-based moments are the most meaningful. Highlighting something as simple as the darker nights or seasonal shifts connects your project to the rhythms of the season.

Pro Tip: Pair a single thematic image or card with minimal journaling to capture the mood without overcomplicating the page
