Solidarity in Lady Selfies. Thursday3.

Get in front of the camera.
As you probably know, I'm a huge fan of documenting my life. I'm also a huge fan of ladies and lady-solidarity. As women, I think it's important that we prop each other up instead of bringing each other down.
I originally started the Thursday3 project because I wanted a way to remember to take more photos of myself for my scrapbooking projects. I am so pleased that it has now evolved into this incredible community for women to post pictures of themselves and tell their right-now stories with words of encouragement from an ever growing group of diverse and awesome women.
We are strong and beautiful women not despite our flaws, but because of them.
It's so much fun to see everyone's photos and read everyone's facts each week. We always have so many things in common and so many things that make us unique. I'm thrilled with the way the Thursday3 community has grown over the past few months and I thought it was time I started to feature some of our awesome members right here on my blog.
This is a brand new project, and I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with it yet -- but here's to being brave and trying out new things.
Here's what I do know:
The purpose of Thursday3 is to document our right-now stories through selfies. However we may choose to do that.
The community aspect of Thursday3 is important because sharing photos and of ourselves and stories of our lives is a very vulnerable thing to do; Creating that safe space and supporting each other makes us stronger women ourselves, and that strength and beauty does not come despite our flaws, it comes because of it.
How to Play Along
Thursday Three is an easy way to remember to get in front of the camera and document yourself and your story.
The rules are simple:
Snap a photo of yourself.
Write down three things about your right now.
Invite a few friends to play along.
Play along however suits you. Personally, my favorite way to play is on Instagram, where documenting my life comes naturally. It's a great way to make new friends (I love internet friends) and learn more about yourself in the process. If you're not an instagram person, feel free to leave a comment here, leave a link to a thursday3 blog post, share on facebook, or even make a page in an art journal.
Think about it this way...If you take one picture and write down three facts each week -- at the end of the year you'll have more than 50 photos of yourself and 150 facts about what life has been like. It would make such an epic All About Me book -- and most of the work is already done.
Here's my photo & facts for this week:

My apartment is a disaster and @megan_nerdnest is going to be here tomorrow, good thing she knows how much I love her and I don't feel like I have to make this place spotless.
I have about fifty projects that I have in my head and not enough time to do them all (where they hell were they during my creative drought).
And most important. I AM GOING TO SEE HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH ON BROADWAY TONIGHT OMG OMG OMG. It's going to be insane!!!
