Today’s Color

Behind the Page

Sundays are for simplicity. I’m gonna keep my weekend pages as simple as I can, which will definitely help me get them done on the days I’m not used to doing Daily Pages. I’ll keep my more intricate Monday through Friday pages going — but in order to make this a successful project (and fit all my pages in the book) I’m going to keep my weekend pages simple and to the point.

Technique of the Day

I’m so excited to play with collage throughout the month. I spent a nice chunk of time this spring organizing my paper embellishments by color. And I purposefully held off on using some of the exciting bits until Color Month! So I’m going to be diving into my little bits and playing around with the different colors, and I’d love to see you do the same!

Reflections & Insights

Some of these colors are going to be a little bit different for everyone. Aside from the fact that our computer monitors and phones are all going to show the colors a little bit different for each of us; some of us are also just going to think of different shades when we think of the color pink.

Or we’re going to have two different little embellishments or sheets of paper that are both “pink” but don’t look exactly the same. But they’re definitely both pink. Embrace it! Play with color, learn about color, understand color.

Enjoy. The. Process.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

When I’m doing collage, I like to pull out a bunch of different things and spread them out on my desk. I try as hard as possible to limit myself to what I’ve already pulled out. It makes all the decision-making so much easier and I don’t have to worry about ‘the perfect thing’ and where I’ve put it in my studio.
