Design Challenge: Grids and Squares
Design challenge: Grids & Squares
This week's challenge is to incorporate grids and/or squares into your project.
Whether you use square photos, a grid-based layout sketch, graphed patterned paper, etc; using squares and grids are a great way to create a clean graphic look (which you can always shake up later on) for your next project.

I painted and swooshed around some pink and gold shimmer paint onto a 6x6 square piece of watercolor paper. Let dry. I cut up that page into 2x2 squares, making 9 total squares. On a few squares I wrote the word love with a black Le Pen over the paint. I placed and glued down the squares on a simple white piece of card stock. I signed the piece at the bottom right.

For this layout I took photos of little things that are making me happy lately. I printed each one as a 3x3 square and arranged them in a grid on my page. I also typed up a list of small things that are making me happy. Finally, I used gold letter stickers for my title and positioned them to fill up the space to the right of my grid. I dare you not to get the song stuck in your head after reading the title!

This week's design challenge to use squares and grids was a great one for me! I love using grids to get lots of photos on a single page! This week I took the opportunity to document how my oldest is becoming an avid, independent reader and include all the pics I've snapped of him over the past year with his nose buried in a book. I chose some travel themed embellishments to portray how books can help take you on amazing adventures:-). It's a great way to use up travel products if you don't do travel pages regularly!

For this week's challenge I used secondhand frames (my grandma had frames like these) to focus on what I'm thankful for and the other to write little notes to my husband.
