It's snow time in Michigan and I'm so here for it.

We got snow over the weekend, and it’s been cold enough all week that everything is still magically white outside…until this afternoon where it got a little warmer and everything is dripping wet. That’s okay though — we are getting more snow tomorrow, and my dream of living in a permanent winter wonderland is on track!
In addition to the first real snow of the year, I’m so excited to tell you about this new course that I’ve been working on. Winter is inevitable. Especially when you live in the upper-Midwest. But, it’s so much more enjoyable when everything is beautiful and white and sparkling. Last year, we didn’t have much snow at all and winter was a slog. One of the great things about persistent snow on the ground is that it makes the sunny days even sunnier - a great antidote to the winter blues.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that we can stay pretty and magical for a long time this winter. I’ll keep you posted!

Monday
Daily Pages 11/27/23: Currently List + Winter Birds
Every Monday, I fill out a Currently List Journaling Card (get yours free in this post). Today, I cut up a Currently List journaling card and used the little prompts as stickers instead of keeping it all on one 3x4 card. I used markers to color the journaling card, and then I added some of my favorite Scrapbook.com roll adhesive to turn them into instant stickers.
Tuesday
Daily Pages 11/28/23: Washi Stickers + Alcohol Ink
Today I played around with some washi stickers and alcohol ink markers. These washi stickers come black and white, but look like they really want to be colored in. To color on washi, you need something that’s not going to rub off immediately (like any inks with water-based dye in them). So I grabbed the limited amount of alcohol ink markers that I have, and started to play.
Wednesday
Daily Pages 11/29/23: DIY Stained Glass Look
Alcohol ink markers on plastic packaging; it couldn’t be more simple. So cool. It dries immediately and creates these really cool stained glass effect. I saw this technique at the Ali Edwards December Daily prep party and I knew I wanted to replicate it with what I already had at home.
Thursday
Daily Pages 11/30/23: Every (faux) Stitch Counts
This was a fun page to create. I started out with no real idea of what I wanted to do, which led me to pulling out my scraps of paper and using a square 2” punch to create this patchwork quilt style page.
Tip of the Week
You know how everything we buy is constantly wrapped in plastic? Well, here’s a fun thing you can do with some of that plastic garbage.
In my Thursday Daily Page this week, I was experimenting with alcohol inks and the plastic packaging that some of my 12x12 paper came in. The result was this super cool stained glass effect. The ink dried immediately, making this a perfect mixed media technique to use in my quick Daily Pages. I can’t wait to use this technique in my December Daily Pages album!
