rukristin's Post Holiday Roundup: 12/27/23
Check out my latest December Daily Pages and the editorial team call!
Hey friends!
I can’t believe we’re already at the end of the year. 2023 was a really delightful year for me. I was able to visit so many great places, including the Isle of Skye off the coast of Scotland. What an incredible place.
As we’ve got a few more days left until the end of the year, I wanted to mention a few things going on here that I hope you join in on.
First is an opportunity to join our ALP Contributing Editors team! We are looking for people who love to document their lives and share it with the community. You can learn everything you need to know about the perks and responsibilities of the a team member here.
tl;dr: It’s two projects a month — One from our Book of Me prompts and one from our Daily Pages challenges. You can create in any size/format you want, we’re looking for a diverse team with lots of different styles and stories to tell.
Next up is spring semester at Feminist Scrapbook School. We start on January 16th and we have a great lineup of classes, projects, and events! Learn more about Feminist Scrapbook School and how you can join us this semester.
If you know someone who would be a great fit for our team, or might want to check out Feminist Scrapbook School, forward them this email!
Catching up on December Daily Pages
I’m almost done with my December Daily Pages book, and I hope to have a full walkthrough of the album before the end of the year — but until then, here are all the pages that I’ve created since our last roundup.
December Daily Pages 12/17/23: Holiday Strips
Another Currently page that I put together with some strips of holiday patterned paper that I had around my desk. I love creating a Currently page after a busy weekend. It always captures the little details that I tend to forget.
December Daily Pages 12/18/23: Holiday Treats
Behind the Page Today was all about baking our holiday cookies! This was the biggest day of baking, so I printed out a bunch of little pictures on my portable printer and added them to the page. I also got to use the butter stamp that I bought earlier in the season!
December Daily Pages 12/19/23: More Cookies!
Day Two of cookie baking — today we made the rugelach, the thumbprint cookies, and the chocolate sandwich cookies. The rugelach are my favorite, and I can’t wait to make them again for New Year’s Eve. The fruit and nut filling is absolutely amazing and the perfect amount of deliciousness next to the flaky pastry.
December Daily Pages 12/20/23: Holiday Cookie Presents
Today we wrapped up and mailed out all our holiday cookies. I created today’s page to show off the finished cookie packages, and to share the little tag I made to go along with each package.
December Daily Pages 12/21/23: It's a Headache Day
Behind the Page It was a headache day. For those of you who have been around forever, you know that I have two overlapping headache disorders that can really throw a wrench into my plans. Luckily, over the past decade I’ve found some good meds that work, and I understand my triggers, so lately, bad days are few and far between.
Tip of the Week
Don’t be afraid to let your book get a little chunky. You can always size up your binder rings (like I did this week) in order to get a better fit. I love how dimensional I was able to get in this album. It’s so much fun to flip through.
