rukristin Outdoors Stories in Photographs
A picture is worth a thousand words. One of my favorite methods of storytelling is through photography. It's one of the reasons I was drawn to scrapbooking as a teenager, and it follows through in my straightforward, minimalist, life-documenting style.
Since I was young, I've loved taking photographs of my life. Whether it was on adventures to the city (Manhattan), hikes out in the country (near our summer home in the Catskills), or my everyday life around my little town of North Arlington.

It always takes me a long time to figure out what words I want to say, and even longer to write them down, edit them, and publish them. I have this incredible desire to show you my stories, and sometimes words absolutely don't cut it, especially when you have access to a good camera and a platform where you can share your photos.
This month at the Awesome Ladies Project, our Monthly Storytelling Theme is Outdoors, so today I'd like to share with you a series of photographs that go along with my right-now 'Outdoors' experience.
Right now, most of my Outdoors is in the form of our backyard (and some front yard) garden. We have a couple hundred fruit/veggie plants that we've been growing from seeds and I spend at least a few minutes outside each day taking care of them.

As you can see our garden is heavy on the tomatoes and the peppers. We've grown almost everything you see here from seeds (with the exception of a couple of beautiful plants we bought from the tomato whisperer/Michigan Heirlooms).
We're still a week or so away from ripe tomatoes, and I'm getting a little impatient. We've had a very dry summer and I'm just so ready to eat all of this wonderful produce.
Thanks so much for taking the time to look through my outdoors photos and listen to my story. If you'd like to tell more of your own Outdoors stories, you should check out this month's Awesome Ladies Storytelling Workshop. It's got prompts, a workbook, tons of inspiration from the design team, and more.
