Behind the Page

So I’ve been talking about these Sharpie Creative Markers for a few weeks now (no, they aren’t paying me). And in today’s page, I tried using them on my gelli plate to see what would come of it, and I’m so pleased with the result. Since most of my brain is thinking about Awesome Ladies Live this week, it’s been great to have a place where I can just mess around with something that I know I’ll have fun with.

Technique of the Day

I started off with the pink bullet tip marker and just started making some x shaped marks. I used a purple brush marker to make some wavy lines, and finished up with the grey marker and a bunch of circular marks. I let all my mark making dry (it’s so easy to see when this paint is dry) and then put a layer of the teal paint over the whole gel plate. The result is the page you see above! I’ll definitely be using these markers to play around on my gel printing in the future.

Reflections & Insights

I’ve got both the bullet point and brush tip versions of these markers, and they’re both great for different things. The brush tips are great for detail work and creating pretty brush strokes. The bullet tips are very easy to use and provide some great bold details to your projects.
