Behind the Page

Nothing worked today. It was just one of those days. I wanted to create a page with some polka dots in the background, but everything I tried just kinda flopped. I don’t really love how today’s page turned out — but once again, I definitely got some ideas for things I want to try out in the future. Is that the theme of this week?

Technique of the Day

I played around with the gel plate today and a few different techniques. First, I tried a homemade stamp to pull off some paint — and that worked, but the colors I picked made the final result way too dark. Then I grabbed a stencil and used some black paint to create my dots — and I couldn’t for the life of me get them to come off the gel plate. It didn’t matter which paint I used, how long I let it dry, the spots just didn’t want to come off. So I was stuck with these messy looking pages. Not ideal, but also not the end of the world. They’ll get used in some project.
