New Toys + Old Toys = Perfect Monday Fun
I’m way into these Sharpie Creative Markers — they’re so easy and super smooth.
Behind the Page
I’m loving these Sharpie Creative Markers — today I paired them up with a stencil that I had on my desk from Ali Edwards December Daily collection. I played with them a bit last week, and today I wanted to see how they would look when I colored big areas.
Some of the marker colors were a little bit streakier than others — the purple and the teal were the biggest culprits of the line marks. But they’re so easy to use, there’s no shaking them, you don’t need to press on the nib a few times and wait for the paint to flow out. They just work. They dry pretty quickly too, making them perfect for Daily Pages.
Technique of the Day
Currently List on a Monday. My favorite.
I’m usually watching a ton of TV, but the past few weeks I’ve been obsessed with these Fourth Wing books and a game called Plate Up. All my other time is spent working on the new Awesome Ladies Project website and trying to keep my headaches manageable.
Also — it’s been crazy hot out, so I’ve been spending a lot more time in the front of my house (with the central air conditioning) than in my studio (with no air conditioning, huge windows, and a giant eastern facing wall); which means way less creative time for me.
Reflections & Insights
I love using this time to just play around with new things and see what I like and don’t like. With these markers specifically, I’m loving how clean and easy they are to use. They’re very smooth and easy to write with. I’ve got the bullet tips, but I’ll definitely pick up the brush tips ones in the next few weeks as well.
I picked mine up on Amazon, but you can get them at Target, Costco, or wherever else you’ve got a great selection of Sharpie products (I pick up a lot of good Sharpie stuff at Staples).
