Love these markers.
Maybe just a little obsessed.
Copic markers are permanent, non-toxic, alcohol-based ink with two tips to cover a wide range of uses; a chisel-style tip at one end and a brush tip at the other. The Copic website has a great overview on exactly what the markers are and how they work.
I first used Copic markers a few times at CHA, the awesome ladies at Some Odd Girl Stamps showed me a thing or two. At first they are definitely super intimidating, but they color like nothing I've ever used before. They are also definitely on the higher end of the cost spectrum and require a bit more of an investment than most of the other supplies I use, but I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity, and I think that these markers are definitely worth their price.
A few weeks ago I picked up a few of the fun neon colored Copics at while I was at the art store, and they've quickly become one of my absolute favorite supplies. I've been playing around with them non-stop, and they've earned a coveted spot in the tiny supply box I'll be keeping with me during our move while 99% of my other supplies are packed away in a moving box.
I have no idea if I'm using them exactly right, but I'm the kind of person who likes to play around with new supplies a little bit before devoting a ton of time to figuring out the 'proper way' to use it. I think I'd definitely like to take a course or two on using Copic markers, especially if I can learn the more advanced blending and shading techniques -- but for now I'm good just coloring and playing with them my own way.
