Behind the Page

I was thinking more about my Week in the Life album for next week (I’ll share a post on that tomorrow) and I know that I want to use some of my gel prints throughout the book. So today I picked out some of my favorite solid color prints and started stamping some labels I could use for that project.

I picked out a few for today’s Daily Page and made a little Thursday3 with a few things going on right now including plants, projects, and lunch!

These little bits are a great way to add more context to the ways in which you’re already documenting your life.

Technique of the Day

StazOn ink on gel prints. I didn’t feel like waiting for anything to dry, and I only needed black ink — so the StazOn is perfect and dries immediately. No need to wait, no reason to fear smudges, etc. I keep my reinker on hand and add more to the ink pad whenever I’m feeling like the stamp isn’t getting enough ink on it.

Reflections & Insights

When you’ve got time set aside each day for your creativity, it’s easy to get creative stuff done. That’s why when I’ve got bigger projects on deck (like this Week in the Life project, or my Scotland album), I’ll use my Daily Pages time to mentally and physically work on some of those projects. Whether it’s planning a project out (like the Daily Page earlier this week) or deciding how I like/want to use my supplies (like today), or something else entirely.

Use the time that you’ve already set aside to help you work on your bigger projects. Let there be overlap!
