Measure Twice (or four times) and Cut Once (or more)
What sizes work best in my notebook? Today's experiment on the page.
Behind the Page
This morning I was wondering what the best size strips were, to use in my notebook, as I’ve never actually measured the pages and done the math. In today’s page I was working on figuring out the best size strips if I want to run them three across the page. I played around with a few different sizes, and I’m happiest with the strips that are just under an inch wide — about 15/16”.
Technique of the Day
I used strips of gel print and a coordinating patterned paper to figure out the sizing. I’m a huge fan of lime green and teal together, and I love how these two look next to each other.
Is there something in your crafting right now that — if you knew the answer, and didn’t have to do some trial and error — would make it a little bit easier when you went to create?
That’s how I was feeling today with the measuring. From now on, I can just know that if I want three stripes (or boxes) of paper across the page, I can cut just under an inch and it’ll look exactly the way I want. No trimming and re-trimming, and then just settling. Now I just know1.
