Today’s Color

Behind the Page

It’s Day 3 of Color Month and today’s all about neon pink (or hot pink if that works better for you). I love pinks of all kinds, so I was excited to get to the table today and play around.

Unfortunately, I’m not feeling great today. The weather has been up and down (and raining) and that really messes with my headaches. So I didn’t pull out any exciting stops for today’s page, I just played around with some fun things that I’ve got in my stash.

Fortunately, it’s Currently List day! (Also, the new website is going to have a brand new Currently List resources page — free downloads, digitals, printables, physical cards, clear stamps, and more!)

Technique of the Day

Currently makes my Mondays so much easier. Especially when I’m not feeling great. I don’t need to worry about choosing a story to tell, or a theme to play around with (although today’s color was even more helpful). I know that the first page of the week is going to be easy.

Currently doesn’t have to be on Monday!

If you have a busy day, whatever day that might be, consider making that your Currently List day. In addition to helping you keep up your practice, maintain your ritual, getting you to journal, etc — it’s a great way to get stuff out of your head and onto the page. This gives you so much more room in your head for creativity to flourish in the future.

Reflections & Insights

I was super excited that I found one of my hot pink pens to write out my Currently List today. Truth is, I hated using it. My handwriting looks like crap (which is basically how I judge a pen) and I don’t think I’ll be pulling it out again for journaling any time soon.

This is one of the great things about something like Color Month, where you’re really doing a deep dive into one theme and you can stretch outside of your usually supplies because you’re looking for super specific things (in this case, a hot pink pen). So if you pull something to play with — and you don’t like it — awesome! You just added more knowledge to your creative garden.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

I love the scrapbook.com roll adhesive for clear things like transparencies and even vellum. It preserves the awesome clarity of the speciality paper and gives your project a crisp, clean look. There are lots of other places where you can get roll adhesive or sheet adhesive that works perfectly well. I just default to ordering mine from scrapbook.com when it’s on sale.
