Behind the Page

This is a very old photo that I had in my stash. I keep a three drawer organizer on my desk — one drawer for stickers, one drawer for bits of life/ephemera, and one drawer for my old unorganized photos.

After I made the background paper, someone reminded me that it was Thursday, and I should add a Thursday3. So, I rummaged through my older photos and found this cute one where the background matched the colors on the page.

I liked this photo so much, that after I finished up my page for the day, I hopped in the shower, got out, and then chopped off a bunch of my hair. It’s now pretty much the same length that it is in the photo above!

Technique of the Day

I got some new iridescent acrylic paints yesterday and decided to pull them out and play. For the most part, I just created monocolor gel prints in different blue and green shades so I could test out the colors.

I wound up using the brayer print (cleaning off my brayer on a separate sheet of paper) for today’s page. I love how these three paint colors layer to create even more colors. I’m definitely going to play with these paints again tomorrow.

Reflections & Insights

Have you gotten anything recently that you’re super excited to play with?

In addition to the new paints that I picked up, I got a brand new 12x12 album that I’m going to be using for my Project Life documentation. It’s been a big roadblock in my process for that project, and I’m psyched to finally get moving forward. I’ll share more in the upcoming weeks as I progress!

Tips & Creative Wisdom

One of the things that I always want to encourage you to do is listen to what works for you in your creative process. This is especially true when life is a little more chaotic. Lean into what works for you. That being said, I’m going to be sending out this email at Noon ET the following day because that’s what life is asking of me right now. So you’ll be getting emails on Saturday with Friday’s page. This also leave us Mondays open for a non-Daily Pages post. So be on the lookout for what’s coming up!
