Just Stick It Down
Letting go of perfection, embracing play, and finding creative freedom in the little things.
Behind the Page
This was one of those pages that started with one little thing (the washi sticker in the lower right corner) and just grew from there. I was feeling a little tired today during Daily Pages—I’m like 99% better from the flu last week and that 1% is manifesting in extra tiredness (as you would expect it to). So my brain wasn’t really into coming up with something super interesting or complicated.
During the Daily Pages Live session someone mentioned that it was washi Wednesday, and I could start there—I grabbed these washi stickers that I have and just went for a full green collage day.
Technique of the Day
Playing around with little random bits is so great for my creativity. We’re going to talk about the importance of play in Monday’s upcoming podcast episode. And I specifically talk about why you need to have a space (like Daily Pages) where you can just mess around and stick stuff down and not have to worry about the end result.
Just the act of play lets your brain know that you’re open to new connections and new possibilities. It’s one of the best, easiest, and most relaxing ways to level up your art.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
Give Yourself Permission to Just Stick Stuff Down
Not every page has to be planned out or deeply meaningful. Having a creative space—like Daily Pages or a Your Story Matters journal—where you can freely experiment without pressure helps keep your creativity flowing.
Pro Tip: Set a timer for 5 or 10 minutes and challenge yourself to fill a page using only what’s in reach. It’s a great way to break creative roadblocks.
