Hi friends! Happy end of July. It’s been a good summer over here, even through the heat waves. If you’re an avid reader, you might have noticed that I’ve only been posting my Daily Pages sporadically the past few weeks. Part of that is the crazy heat—I don’t have air conditioning in my studio, and the video editing makes the computer (and the surrounding area) even hotter. That, coupled with a health flair-up this month, forced me to shift gears a little bit while things calm down.
Hopefully, you’ve also been enjoying my Find Your Voice: Summer Camp. I’ve been having a great time teaching this summer, and I absolutely love all the amazing creative journal pages that you’ve all been creating. The creativity is off the charts.
It’s never too late to join in! We’re halfway through summer camp, but the lessons will remain up and available for you to read whenever you’re ready. Even though it’s been a weird month, I’ve still been collecting a few of my favorite things to share with all of you, including a few favorite Daily Pages.
This month’s Currently List:
Watching
Pop Culture Jeopardy—I’m enjoying this way too much.
Sinners—I’m not really a movie person, or a horror person, but it was nice to finally sit down and see what everyone’s been talking about.
The Buccaneers, Too Much, Foundation, and Acapulco—new episodes of some great shows. I’ve got feelings about all of them, but right now I’m just enjoying the ride.
The Good Place, Chuck, and Dark—these are the show’s I’ve been putting on in the background while I’m not feeling well, or just sticking on while I’m doing some chores.
Reading
Football off-season drama. I watch the NFL for the same reasons that people watch Love Island or any other reality TV. And the off-season is where all the best storylines start.
This one by
on anti-toxic productivity culture.A bunch of stuff on Lena Dunham and her new show Too Much, even more stuff on cooking—love
and here on Substack, and then a whole bunch of nothing. July is never a heavy reading month for me with all the headaches.
Listening
Basically only audiobooks lately—I’ve not been listening to much music while feeling under the weather. Lots of TV time (when I feel like watching) and even more audiobook time (when my eyes need a break).
I’m still in the middle of Lord of the Rings. I’m almost finished with the second book, and excited to move on to Return of the King. It has some of my favorite moments in all of books—can’t wait to hear them narrated.
I’m also listening to The Great Library series (my favorite YA series right now) during the day while I’m working on some stuff around the house. And I’ve got Fourth Wing for my naps.
Making
Hahahaha. Literally nothing. I’ve made less this month than I have in a really long time. I’ve been keeping up with Daily Pages for the most part. I have taken a few days off completely here and there, but I am getting stuff down in my notebook.
This is one of my favorite times of the year for produce, and we’ve been getting some great stuff from the CSA (blueberries have been amazing the past few weeks). But I’m really not doing a ton of actually cooking on a day to day basis. Once I’m feeling a bit better, I’ll dive back into the kitchen, but for now, I’m happy just hanging out.
Here are a few of the journal pages I’ve made for my Find Your Voice creative journal—it’s been my only big creative project these last few weeks.
Feeling
Emotionally: fine?
Physically: very meh.
Planning
A trip home in September for a Julio Torres show
ALP Virtual Scrapbook Festival (mid-November at theawesomeladiesproject.com)

Thank you for reading our stuff and for the shoutout Kristin!!
Here is something I learned: After watching and doing Daily Pages for the past three months, I realized that I already do this in my weekly planner--to a lesser extent. In my weekly planner, the left side pages contain the weekly calendar and the right side pages are blank. The right side pages are always filled up with stuff similar to Daily Pages, but now I know how to kick it up a notch!
