Happy Monday! It’s been a whole weekend. I feel like I’ve been going non-stop since Thursday morning. Between doctors appointments, plant sales, plant planting, heading out of town for the weekend, dress shopping — I’m so beat.
I’m so thankful for Currently List on a Monday like today. I can just be super chill about my page, create something easy and basic, and still get a bunch of story down.
Technique of the Day
One of the nice things about doing Currently on Monday means that I only need to think about how I’m decorating a single page. I still had this paper pad on my desk from last week. I stamped this long label, and a few other stamps, on a few sheets of paper and stuck them down on rainbow order.
Reflections & Insights
The best thing about the past few days have been the plants. We took a ride up to see my tomato lady on Thursday afternoon and got a bunch of heirloom tomatoes and peppers (pic below). It was pouring rain when we got home, so planting them had to wait until Friday. Now those are all in the ground and looking great.
We then went to visit the MSU Horticulture Plant Sale on Saturday morning and picked up a bunch of fun stuff — dahlias, black-eyed susans, daisies, and more. I’ll share pictures throughout the season so you can see everything progress!
Now I’ve got to get the rest of these plants in the ground. I’ll spend some time doing that this afternoon, in short bursts, as it’s already 85 degrees out. But I’d love to give these plants their best chance to thrive and get them into some good dirt asap.
I love having plants growing outside throughout the summer. There’s something so satisfying about growing food that you can bring inside and eat immediately. It’s even more satisfying when it’s food that you can’t get at the grocery store (or even at the farmers’ markets). We’ve got some amazing tomato and pepper varieties this season and I can’t wait to get them on the table.
