It's been on my Libby holds shelf for literal months...
I read a book yesterday
Behind the Page
Yesterday, my Libby hold on A Court of Thorns and Roses finally came up for me to borrow. It was one of those ‘several months wait’ books. I started it during lunch, and just couldn’t put it down. I was reading chapters in between all my tasks yesterday, and I was able to finish it up this morning before Daily Pages at noon.
I can’t wait to read the next book. I might have to grab an ebook copy or check out the physical books from the library, because I don’t think I’m going to be down to wait several months in between the next books.
Technique of the Day
I actually hadn’t even set out to create a page about the book this afternoon. Originally, I just wanted to see how the iridescent paint showed up on this fun black mixed media paper.
I picked out a light-ish pink color, put down some strips of washi tape to help create the line, and then made the print. On the black paper, the color came out pretty dark — more purple than pink (which looks awesome), and the iridescence looks incredible. I added some stamped stars with metallic ink and immediately thought of Halloween/Witchy vibes and went to find some fun themed stickers.
I ran across these cauldron stickers with colors that worked with my page. Cauldrons are a big thing in the book I just finished up, so it seemed fitting to make the entire page seem like it was about that the whole time lol!
I added a bit of journaling and I’m super satisfied with today’s page.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
Give yourself permission to allow ideas to build over time. When you trust your gut, and let yourself create art one layer at a time, you can create incredible things that your brain would never have been able to see at the very start.
