Behind the Page

I’m so happy to be home. I love my house, my bed, and football Sundays.

We had a great time on our trip home — the wedding was fantastic, we had so much amazing food, and we got to spend time with so many of the people we love. Like anything there were ups and downs (more on that another day), but I’m so thankful that we were able to take the time off and spend it back in NJ.

Today’s page was all about celebrating the last two weeks, and even more about celebrating being back at home. I’m so excited to be back making pages each day. Throughout the week we’ll chat a bit more about what it’s like to restart a creative practice after some time away.

Technique of the Day

I put a little glassine bag onto today’s page and filled it with little bits I had around my desk. I was originally thinking of using the library card sticker on its own, but then I thought — hey, maybe I’ll find the perfect place to put this one day.

Usually, I’m not a big fan of thinking about creative supplies that way, but this weekend I was flipping through my Scotland album and I found an envelope of all my leftover stickers, and it was just such a delight, that I make it a point to do it more in my Daily Pages books.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

Getting back into the swing of things — having Currently List was sooo helpful this afternoon. I didn’t have to think about “what I was going to do”. I didn’t start out with a blank page. I didn’t need to worry about what I was going to write. Having Currently List as the anchor of my page meant it was even easier to get back into the creative practice after my time away.
