Behind the Page
I like this one. I feel like I’m finally starting to get back into the swing of using my brain to make creative decisions. It was the first day in weeks that I was able to open up the sliding-glass door in my studio and take in some of the fresh air. Tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer, so I can’t wait to wake up, open up my studio and enjoy the weather.
Technique of the Day
I’m still having fun with paint and ink — today I grabbed a sheet of paper that already had some blue paint on it and then added some silver ink on top with a stencil. I really like the look of the ink on top of the paint. I finished it up with some splatters of the neon pink paint. Huge fan of these colors together.
Reflections & Insights
I’m going through a bit of a paint phase right now. I think it’s great to lean into the things that you’re enjoying. It’s a big part of having a successful creative practice. I want to encourage you to play with the things that you’re pulled to. It helps you have more fun, and makes it easier to learn what works for you in your art.
