Foam Stamp Fun in Burgundy
Acrylic Paint + Foam Stamps = A Match Made in Heaven
Today’s Color
Behind the Page
For some reason, I really thought today’s color was red-orange. I even went so far as to start mixing colors for red-orange when my friends stopped me and let me know that today’s color was burgundy (oops).
Definitely long-week Friday brain. I’m so ready for the weekend, and I’m super glad that the weather has cooled off a bit. I’ve definitely got some garden time planned — my beans are starting to shoot up like crazy.
But I’m glad that I picked out paint to play with — because then I just swapped over to trying to create some burgundy with my paints.
Technique of the Day
In today’s page, I played with foam stamps to create my background and this circle embellishment in the center of my page.
Foam stamps are amazing with acrylic paint (which also makes them great with gel printing). I get most of my foam stamps from Art Foamies. They have great designs by great artists. These are made by my friend Nathalie. She has a great grungy, urban style that I just love.
Reflections & Insights
Reflect on how you are feeling at the end of the first week of Color Month. Here are a couple of things you can ask yourself to help you look back.
Are you creating at a sustainable pace?
What did you enjoy working with this week?
What did you dislike working with this week?
Are there any changes you want to make to your process for this upcoming week?
For me, I’m creating at a sustainable pace right now. I’m interested in seeing how this weekend goes. I’ll probably make some simple pages and give myself some extra downtime.
