You can do a lot with just five minutes. Let’s make your creative habit fit into whatever life is throwing at you today.
Stickers and Simple Paper
Stickers are the ultimate low-pressure tool. They’re your cheat code for adding flair when time is tight.
Grab a couple, slap them on your page, and boom—you’ve already transformed that empty space into something uniquely yours. Simple patterned paper works the same way. Have scraps lying around? Great, use ‘em. Glue them down and add a layer or two if you're in the mood. This is my go-to when I don’t want to spend energy overthinking but still want to do something creative.
Little bits add up. A sticker here, a scrap of paper there—it all counts.
Quotes
A good quote saves the day when you don’t know what to write.
I keep a list of quotes I love in my phone—song lyrics, book lines, even funny things my friends say. Pull one out when you're short on time and write it down. It could be something that inspires you, something that makes you laugh, or just something that feels like it fits your vibe today. You don’t have to be original every time. Let someone else’s words do the heavy lifting.
Quotes are your shortcut to a page that feels super authentic.
Currently List
When in doubt, make a list of what’s going on with you right now.
I love a good Currently List because it’s quick and keeps me connected to my story. What are you watching? What’s the best thing you ate this week? What are you obsessed with right now? No pressure to make it pretty—just list it out. It’s a simple way to capture the present moment without spending ages on a page. I started doing this when I wanted to keep documenting even on those "I’ve got nothing left to give" days.
You can always make a list—it’s one of the best ways to capture what’s happening without fuss.
Thursday3
Take a selfie. Write down three things.
That’s it. It doesn’t need to be a masterpiece. It’s just you, three thoughts, and a moment in time. Thursday3 is all about seeing yourself in your story, and that’s powerful. Sometimes the story is “I’m tired, but I showed up today.” Other times it’s something joyful, like the gorgeous breakfast you made. Either way, it’s a snapshot of you right now. And you are always worth capturing.
Just three things and a photo—that’s enough to tell a story worth remembering.
Five minutes might not seem like much, but it’s enough to create something meaningful. A sticker, a quote, a quick list, or a snapshot of you—these small actions add up to something bigger over time. It’s not about making every page perfect; it’s about showing up and making the time, even when life is hectic. By keeping it simple, you’re building a habit, and that habit is what allows your story to keep unfolding.
Every page is a step towards documenting your life in all its beautiful, messy glory. You’re creating space for yourself, even if it’s just a tiny one. And those tiny moments are what make up our days, our weeks, and our lives. So, grab those stickers, jot down that quote, take that selfie, and keep on creating—even if it’s only for five minutes.
Your story is always worth it.
xoxo,
Kristin
