Behind the Page

I’m still figuring out how to get back into the swing of common time Daily Pages, and just making whatever I want, instead of following a color prompt. And today, I was lured in by some of the pretty things that I had leftover on my desk (since I haven’t actually done a real clean yet in my studio).

I think that’s probably how the rest of the week is gonna go — I’ll use whatever I’ve got lying around on my desk, and I’ll do a solid clean up session this weekend.

Technique of the Day

This is another one of the sheets of paper I made last week when I was playing around with acrylic paints and different shades of violet. I combined the background with an illustrated card from my friend Brandi — and I think they work perfectly together.

To make things a little easier for me, I backed the entire card with roll adhesive before cutting out the little pairs of sneakers. This meant that I had essentially turned them into little stickers, which makes them so much easier to stick down on the background paper than if I were to just use my regular tape runner.

Reflections & Insights

Using up what’s on your desk is always a fun way to play around with things. There’s always things that are leftover from other projects, random garbage, things you thought might work with something but then wound up not being right…the list is endless. Especially if you’re late for your latest decluttering session like me.
