Behind the Page

I’m still feeling pretty tired today, so both my mental and physical energy are down the drain. Next week, starting on Monday, is the annual Week in the Life project from

Ali Edwards
. This is one of my favorite projects each year, and I absolutely love the colors and products that Ali and her team put together this year.

Each day get a different color — and I know that’s going to be awesome for me. Both in taking pictures each day, and then also using up supplies throughout the book. Since I haven’t been feeling well, I haven’t had a chance to think about the journaling that I want to do each day next week.

I know that if I give myself prompts and questions to answer throughout the week, I’ll be much more successful than if I just went for it next week, and wrote down random notes.

Technique of the Day

So, today’s Daily Page was all about flipping through the skeleton of the book that I’ve already put together, and then deciding what I’m going to write in the specific spaces already designated.

Journaling prompts/questions I’m going to be using:

  • Currently: Watching, Eating, Drinking, Feeling, Locations — and whatever else makes sense for the day. These will go on journaling cards and added in throughout the day’s journaling. Not necessarily a Currently List each day.

  • Morning, Afternoon, Evening — this will be short sentences about the main thing that happened each morning, afternoon, evening. If I don’t have anything interesting, then I can add in the Currently stuff.

  • Today Looked Like — I’ll use this prompt to help me get some some extra notes about the best photos (most representative) I took today. I know that I’m going to be using a lot of clear sticker paper for my journaling.

  • One Little Something — This is going to be about a little detail that I noticed that I want to go into more depth on. It might be something in my pantry, the garden, or some TV show that I’m loving.

Reflections & Insights

I’m excited for this project. You can learn more about it here. It’s a project I’ve been doing for well over a decade now, and they’re some of my absolute favorite scrapbooks. This year, I can’t wait to dive into the colors for each day. I think that’s going to be a helpful way for me to look at things around the house and remember to capture them through the camera.

Tips & Creative Wisdom

I’m going to publish a quick flip through of the skeleton of my album later this week — I’ll talk about my plans for the project and I’ll share my full journaling prompt template, and some stickers I’m working on.
