Hi Kristen,

I really enjoyed this. If I'd been taking part live I'd have asked how you start once you know you want to document a story. So, for example, I have a pot of different coloured pens on my desk. I could create several stories around that pot but faced with a blank sheet, where do I start? Do I have to take a photo of the pot or just write lots to explain why that image of muti-coloured wool fits with the pen pot? Help!

Hey, thanks for the great question! There's really no wrong way to start. With something like a pot of colorful pens, just do what feels right: maybe snap a quick photo, jot down your thoughts, or both. Start by really looking at the object—what catches your eye or sparks a memory? Then let your ideas flow, whether that's with images, words, supplies or a mix. Your creative process is all about following what inspires you in the moment.

Let me know how that feels.
