Easy Like Monday Morning 🎵
I spent some time this weekend gel printing — and it made today’s page super easy.
Behind the Page
It was super hot this weekend — so I spent most of it in the front of my house, on the couch, watching the Olympics and playing with my gel plate and new paints. In the video below, you’ll see a bunch of the cool prints I ‘ made over the weekend before I settle on the one that I use in today’s page.
Technique of the Day
I love the brightness of the background, and I wanted to include something that contrasted against the neon colors. On my desk, I had this little box of black kitty stickers, and picked out a few that made me think of kitties doing Olympic sports. I’m such a huge fan of bright colors mixed with lots of black/white.
What are some of your favorite color combinations right now?
Reflections & Insights
I’m gonna be so sad next week when I wake up and I can’t immediately put on the Olympics Gold Zone. It’s been so awesome to get out of bed and know that there’s gonna be some great sports on the television. Watching Simone and Jordan this morning was delightful, and seeing how they were so excited for their Brazilian competitor was a great way to kick off the day.
At least I’ll have football to look forward to once the Olympics are over — even if my football team isn’t going to do well this year. I love football Sundays, food, family, and all the other good stuff that comes with the changing of the seasons.

Tips & Creative Wisdom
During our Daily Pages share time this afternoon, one of the pages shared had an awesome Currently List stamped right onto a gel print. Since Mondays are all about making things as easy as possible, I thought about how Currently List would probably look great printed out on clear matte sticker paper. I’ve got these six to a page Currently List cards that print on a single sheet of 8.5x11” paper — which would work perfectly with the clear matte sticker paper I’ve got.
I’ll be sure to share the results of my experiment when I try it out! Stay tuned.
