Document Your Life With One Picture Every Morning

Things are cranked up to 11 around here. We're moving in six weeks and both j and I spent the weekend in bed with a crazy virus and 102 fevers. Stuff is being neglected left and right. My apartment looks like a teenage boy and a toddler were left alone for a week and I feel like I'm barely treading water keeping up with deadline. That being said, I'm in a great place, I'm super happy, and I'm having a great time with all of it. It's just all happening faster and faster each day. Unfortunately, one of the things I've been severely neglecting is my own day-to-day memory keeping. I'm not loving my approach to Project Life, and I'll be making a drastic change to my system once we get out to Michigan. Luckily, I just happened to stumble upon a way to document my right-now life, even though things have been so hectic. As part of my morning routine, I grab a carafe of cold water and organize my desk for the day's activities. A few weeks ago, I started snapping a photo each morning as I began my day. I didn't set out to make it a daily project, but when I noticed that they were some of my most popular photos, I decided that, just like Elise, I would make it a part of my morning routine. It helps me document what I'm working on, and the little changes in the day-to-day stuff without spelling every single thing out. Pick one thing. Pick one thing you do (almost) every day. Pick something that is a part of your routine and take a picture each day.
Document your life with one picture every day.
Don't worry about journaling, or stylizing, or anything aside from snapping that picture each day. PS -- if you miss a day -- who cares, you're not doing this for gold stars. You will get better with each photo. You'll learn what you like, what looks good, and you'll start to notice your photography skills improving without much effort. Give it a try.
