December Daily Pages 12/21/23: It's a Headache Day
Perfect supplies for a not-so-perfect day
Behind the Page
It was a headache day. For those of you who have been around forever, you know that I have two overlapping headache disorders that can really throw a wrench into my plans. Luckily, over the past decade I’ve found some good meds that work, and I understand my triggers, so lately, bad days are few and far between. Unfortunately, weather is the one thing I can’t control, so when we had a big rainstorm come in last night after some unseasonably warm temperatures, it was not good for my head.
Technique of the Day
I created this flip up page for my journaling out of one of the boxes of my headache meds. I added some rub-ons in the corners to give it a little bit of detail, and then I used the tabbed section as a hinge.
Reflections & Insights
Scrapbook some of your low moments. It not only brings a dose of reality into your stories, it helps ground them in the actual human experience. We all get sick, we all have bad days, we all make mistakes. When your scrapbook shares your humanity, we all benefit, and you become a better teller of your own stories.
Tips & Creative Wisdom
You can do the above flip up technique with any little box you’ve got, but the medication boxes are usually the perfect size. And if you like this idea, but have no desire to scrapbook your medicine, just cover the box front with patterned paper, and you’ve still got a great flip for journaling or photos.
